Capri, 20 October 1944

This is where our story begins. A story that is linked to the end of the Second World War, to Peace and to that magical and visionary island that has been a source of inspiration for artists, writers and poets from all over the world.

The bell of peace.

It was 1944 when Pietro Capuano had the intuition to create a bronze bell to give to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, as a lucky charm for the end of the war. A source of inspiration is the Capri legend of San Michele, in which a young shepherd finds his lost sheep thanks to the tinkling of the bell given to him by the Saint. Since then, the Bell has become a talisman recognized as a symbol of Peace and Fortune.
